When I picked up the latest issue of the Galactic Observer this morning and browsed through the entertainment section while drinking a hot cup of yummy Nesla Coffee, I found a couple of raving Galaxy on Fire 2 review that I'd love to share with you guys!

First of all, iSource said that "there are a couple of other features that I haven’t mentioned so far, including in-game voice acting, hiring wingmen, mining, and a couple of others. But these features really aren’t the reason you want to pick up this title — they’re just icing on this very, very pretty cake. What matters in this batter is the meaty space combat, gorgeous visuals, and the distinct sense of progression as you trade in one ship for another, better ship."

Second, Paint and Biscuits wrote that "the fact that you can get this kind of game on a tiny device that is also a phone, camera, wireless internet device, navigational tool etc etc is undeniably cool."

And finally, Mac Stories called Galaxy on Fire 2 HD "an excellent sci-fi game with an extensive storyline, massive amounts of side missions, and graphics that will render you speechless." Their reviewer Don Southard even went on saying that he's never ever been as addicted to an iOS game as he is to GOF2 HD! Awesome!

Pocket Gamer, App-Score and Simon Video have all written (or recorded) raving reviews for Galaxy on Fire 2!

Pocket Gamer has given the Xperia Play version of the game 8 points out of 10 and a Silver Award! According to their reviewer Brendan Caldwell "there's a sense of purpose to the game's vast universe, and if you're prepared to put in the hours Galaxy on Fire 2 is more than worth the slog."

App-Score have shelled out 8 points out of 10 for GOF2 HD as well and said that "Galaxy on Fire 2 is simply one of the best and most detailed iOS games to date. It is the leader in the App store and one of the best looking games out there as well. The price maybe a bit hefty but it really is worth every cent."

And Simon Tay of SimonVideo.com has recorded a cool video review for GOF2 HD, in which he not only compares the enhanced graphics of the High Definition version with the look of the regular GOF2 via split screen, but also calls the game "the most beautiful RPG space simulation trader game ever on iOS devices" and "a definitive must-buy!"

Sure, the shady weapons dealer Alice might be a little feisty at times, but not even she deserves to spend the scariest night of the year with a pain in the neck like Cornelius Tenner. So help her out and tell her which movie watch in order to have a fang-tastic Halloween at the Valkyrie station despite the unpleasant company of Corny and two dozen brutish space thugs!

This is going to be the worst Halloween ever! While everbody else will be dressing up as Rhinocitrolls and gulping down one can of Union Beer after another, I’m stuck here at Valkyrie station with my annoying lackey Cornelius Tenner and two dozens of loudmouthed, brutish space thugs! Damn! I guess I won’t be leaving quarters at all and rather stay in bed and watch horror movies all night. I’m especially fond of the classics of the 20^th and 21^st century. Back then, the film makers still knew how to scare an audience! But I just can’t decide which flick I should watch. So I need your assistance!

Today we've got a whole lot of news for you, fighter pilots! First of all, Galaxy on Fire 2 continues to amaze the press. Germany's Touchgamer.de has just given the HD version of the game 9 points out of 10 and said that "fans of games like Wing Commander or Privateer will have a helluva lot of fun playing Galaxy on Fire 2 HD and will be hooked to the app for weeks," while VentureBeat.com has featured the title as one of the top games to play on the iPhone 4S and said that it will take you "where no iPhone game has gone before!" Furthermore, a new update (version 1.0.1) for Galaxy on Fire 2 HD for iPhone 4S and iPad 2 has been uploaded, which includes the following features:

- Reduced flickering
- Updated ship icons for iPhone 4S
- Fixed freeze in last mission
- OpenFeint savegame compatibility restored
- Throttle control multitouch behavior improved
- Vossk Space Lounge meshes fixed
- New app icon

Unfortunately, the update has brought with it a bug that causes the game to crash whenever you enter a Vossk space bar. Another update, which will fix this bug, is already in the making. In the meantime, you can still play the game without problems, as long as you avoid doing shady dealings or having devastating drinking contests with Mekant Orssk and Co.

And last but not least, our good friend Gunant Breh has picked the winners of the latest promo code give-away. Irish lifestyle magazine Joe.ie has just written a great review for Galaxy on Fire 2 THD. They say that "everything effortlessly comes together to form an absorbing game with a ton of side missions thrown into the mix to keep things from getting bogged down in trading/fighting cycles" and come to the conclusion that "the Android gaming scene has been in dire need of a shot in the arm for a while now and with games like this finally making it to the Android Market, its looking like the days of iOS gaming superiority are coming to an end."

On August 29th, OneClickMac.com published a raving 4-out-of-5-points review for Galaxy on Fire 2™ Full HD. At that time, their only complaint was the game's instability. Since we have released an update in the meantime, which fixed the crashes, they have now updated their review and given Galaxy on Fire 2™ Full HD a perfect 5 points out of 5 rating!

To make the game run more stable on Macintosh Computers with OSX Lion, we have just released an update that will convert Galaxy on Fire 2™ Full HD to 64 bit. Hence, OSX Lion’s memory management problems with 32 bit applications should no longer cause the game to crash.
